i guess now that i’ve been here for 3 weeks it would be appropriate to update you and let you know i’m alive and thriving in the bodes!
CAMBODIA! my home for the LAST 3 months of my race.. still can’t believe that it’s almost over.
cambodia is hot, like really hot, like ALL the time, like in the 100s and 90% humidity hot, like never stop sweating hot.
cambodia is very different than the other 3 countries i’ve been to. there was definitely some culture shock coming and getting adjusted to being here. buddhism is the top religion so it’s common to see shrines, temples, and people paying to have a monk recite a prayer in grocery stores or just out and about.
ministry these next few months will and have looked like teaching in universities, high schools, and elementary schools. (the students are so respectful, sweet, and loving). it’s looked like making balloon animals and doing face paint on children in the park. it’s looked like 2 hour dance/skit practices 4 days a week. it’s looked like building relationships with the absolute coolest and most amazing staff at the base. (my heart is already hurting thinking about having to say goodbye).
here’s to the next 60 days in cambodia. here’s to growth. here’s to uncomfortability. here’s to finishing strong. here’s to new friendships. and here’s to everything God’s doing and has got in store for his people here and this country.
